Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ELICI collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website, join our waitlist, or use the ELICI studio. Because we welcome people from around the world, this policy is written to meet the requirements of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, among other applicable laws.

Who we are. ELICI is operated by ELICI AI Private Limited (“ELICI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 of India, with its registered office at 862 A, First Floor, Amrawati Enclave, Panchkula, Haryana 134107, India. We are the data controller (GDPR) and data fiduciary (DPDP Act) for the personal data described here. Contact: nishant@elici.ai.

1. What ELICI does

ELICI is an AI-powered content studio. In a session, ELICI acts as an interviewer: it asks you questions or shows you prompts, you respond by speaking or typing, and ELICI turns your response into content — short video clips, hooks, captions, and written posts — that you can edit and publish. ELICI also offers “Social Intelligence” (benchmarks drawn from top-performing public posts in your space), an optional “Personal Intelligence” surface (where you can connect your own social accounts to see your analytics), an idea bank, a clips library, a personal-brand archetype quiz, and a waitlist. This policy covers all of it.

2. The personal data we collect

Account and identity data

Content you create in the studio

Connected social accounts (optional)

If you choose to connect your own social account(s) — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, or LinkedIn — through our Personal Intelligence surface, we receive the data those platforms share for the connected account, such as your handle, profile photo, your posts, and their performance metrics (for example views, likes, comments, and, where available, reach and impressions). This is entirely opt-in and you control it (see Section 6).

Quiz and waitlist

Payment data

If you purchase a paid plan or credits, our third-party payment processor (we intend to use Stripe) handles your payment. We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details, but we do not collect or store your full payment-card number.

Technical and usage data

Your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages and features you use, and diagnostic and error data — collected through our hosting, analytics, and error-monitoring providers to keep the service secure and working.

3. Publicly available information about creators (Social Intelligence)

To power Social Intelligence, Outliers, and the “Analyze Link” feature, ELICI collects and analyses publicly available posts and public account information from social platforms — for example the post text, media, engagement counts, and the public handle of the creator who posted it. This lets us surface top-performing content and benchmarks in your space. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing content-intelligence benchmarks, and we process only information that is already public. If you are a creator and would like your public content excluded from these features, contact us at nishant@elici.ai and we will act on your request in line with applicable law.

4. How we use your data, and our lawful basis

Where the GDPR applies, the lawful basis is shown in brackets; where the DPDP Act applies, we rely on your consent or another legally permitted ground.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your private studio content to train our own general models, and we do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone.

5. AI processing

ELICI uses third-party AI services to make the studio work — for example, to transcribe your voice, generate text and clips, create voice output, and compute embeddings for search. When you use these features, the relevant input (such as your audio or text) is sent to these providers so they can return a result to us. They act as our service providers under contract and process the data on our behalf to deliver the feature, not for their own independent purposes. AI-generated output can be imperfect; you are responsible for reviewing anything before you publish it.

6. Connecting and disconnecting your social accounts

Connecting a social account is optional and initiated by you. We use a third-party connection provider to run the secure OAuth connect flow. During that flow, the platform’s own consent screen may display that connection provider’s name rather than ELICI’s. We access only the data needed for Personal Intelligence, and only for accounts you connect. You can disconnect any account at any time from within the product, which stops further access; and you can ask us to delete the data we fetched for it by contacting nishant@elici.ai. Your use of each platform remains subject to that platform’s own terms and privacy policy.

7. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only with service providers (processors) who help us run ELICI, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us. We work with providers in the following categories:

Each provider is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only on our instructions. A current list of the specific sub-processors we use is available on request at nishant@elici.ai. We may also disclose personal data where required by law, to protect our or others’ rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation — in which case this policy will continue to apply.

8. International transfers

Some providers store and process data on servers outside your country, including outside India and the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — and take reasonable steps to keep your data protected to the standard in this policy.

9. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and the content in your studio for as long as your account is active, so the service works for you. If you delete specific content, or delete your account, we delete or anonymise the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Waitlist data is kept until you unsubscribe or the waitlist closes. Public benchmark data and technical logs are kept only as long as needed for the purpose for which they were collected.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the rights below, and we honour them wherever you are.

Under the GDPR (EU / UK)

Under the DPDP Act (India)

To exercise any right, email nishant@elici.ai. You can also access and delete much of your content directly in the product. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the timelines required by law.

11. Cookies and analytics

ELICI uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: essential ones needed to sign you in and keep the service secure, and privacy-conscious analytics that help us understand, in aggregate, how ELICI is used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may affect how ELICI works.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data — including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database security, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by law.

13. Children

ELICI is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, where a change is significant, take reasonable steps to inform you. Your continued use of ELICI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
